War, war has finally engulfed the Seven Kingdoms.

After the devastation that had brought the Blackfyre Throne low, the year 400AC is cursed with devastation that saw the end of the male line. Ser Hugor, Hand of the King now the highest authority, has mantled the responsibilities of ruling the Realm, enforcing a rule of piety & zealousness.

After an assassination attempt on the Lord Hand had left him disfigured & irrational, the Grandmaster of Warrior's Son had taken drastic & somewhat tyrannic decisions. Ser Hugor had officiated a holy war against the North, citing that the Old Gods have corrupted them & was time to burn its influence out & calling upon the peoples of the Seven Kingdoms & Faith to fight in the name of justice.

Likewise Lord Hugor has decreed that all Houses are to send a hostage to the capital to ensure their loyalty, paranoid that another attempt on his life is looming in the horizon.

A Thousand Suns is an 18+ roleplay based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. The AU diverts from canon after the Great Spring Sickness, allowing us to create a roleplay that is grounded yet unexpected. In this roleplay, core elements of the book series is in play, such as but not exclusive to: Low Fantasy with return of magic, family bonds, political realism, moral ambiguity and the looming threat of darkness.

The world of A Thousand Suns takes place in 262 AC, some fifty years following the devastating Great Spring Sickness of 209 to 216 AC, the Third Blackfyre Rebellion of 220 to 222 AC and the Eternal Summer of 224 to 260 AC.

King Daeron III, grandson of King Aemon I, third son of King Maekar I, sits on the Iron Throne. Though the Blackfyres lie buried in Summerhall’s fields, the scars of summer mark the land, having turned woods to ash and air to storm. Some areas are yet to recover from disease and drought, while others have prospered in their stead. Having long resigned from serving in King’s Landing, Lord Bloodraven has found his refuge on the Isle of Tears instead, navigating the realm from afar now that magic has returned once more to the world of A Thousand Suns.

In the roleplay of A Thousand Suns, the world and lore primarily focus on the regions of the North, the Riverlands, the Vale, and the Stormlands.

Now introducing A Realm of Dragons !

In this server, we are hosting a literate roleplay based within the wonderful A Song of Ice & Fire universe created by George R. R. Martin. We only allow admins that are 18+ or older. The roleplay is a canon-divergent experience, set in an alternate universe where Viserys I Targaryen was never king, and other histories and canon backstories have been rewritten.

When the reign of King Jaehaerys came to an end, he did not choose his granddaughter Rhaenys to succeed him out of his prejudices. Instead, he named her younger brother, Aegon, as his heir and thus the son of Jocelyn Baratheon and Aemon Targaryen became King Aegon, the Second of His Name. At only twenty, he inherited a grand realm and an era of peace that he would one day hope to shape into an empire.

It is now the 16th year of Aegon II’s reign, and trouble is afoot, especially with his aunt — the infamous Saera Targaryen — suddenly returning from Westeros and his eldest son claiming Dragonstone. With disturbances in the realm at every turn, battles to be fought, and the looming paranoia that comes with prophecies, there is no telling how this story will unfold. But it is yours to write.

An uneasy peace has settled over the lands of Westeros. As King, Maegor Targaryen remains surrounded, facing challenges both within from his nephew Aegon the Uncrowned and without from the High Septon’s many pious followers who grow emboldened with the death of the dragons.

Although the Great Houses of Westeros still swear fealty to King Maegor, loyalties shift outside his watch. Maegor may count upon the Riverlands, who wish not for their rivers to run red, and the Vale may remember how Maegor defeated the kinslayer’s rebellion, but in the Reach the Faith grows stronger. It is unclear if House Tyrell can hold onto Highgarden against those who covet it.

The North and Iron Islands remain as isolated, both in a position wait out the fires of war or revel in chaos while the West and Stormlands may also break away for their own personal interests, avoiding a great war lest the Dornish or the Ironborn take advantage.

Beyond it all, Dorne stands strong, unbent and unbroken. It has the opportunity to take advantage of the chaos and watch the dragon fall, but if they overextend themselves they could be at the mercy of a greater evil.

Despite having been built in Fire and Blood, the realm seems to teeter on the precipice of chaos.

𝐈t is a shivery thing to kill one’s kin, but history is penned by the victors.

𝐊ing Vaeron was slain in the sky by Baemond, his younger brother, some 17 years ago. The reasons for this vary, depending on whom is asked; Vaeron was weak, or corrupt, or the usurper was hateful, or ambitious. It was a hollow victory; Baemond never fully recovered from the war, pained by dragonfire burns until his death a decade later.

𝐍ow his son is king, and the deposed heirs of the former King Vaeron hide in Dorne, the land of their mother. It would be worrisome enough that they yet live, but the sands also whisper that the heirs have dragons of their own. And nothing good ever comes when dragons fight their wars.
