What if the button was pushed?

The question was debated and dissected, feared and dismissed. We grew numb to the idea. It was inconceivable. No one could ever end the world... right?

We were naïve.

They did it on May 3rd, 2025. A total nuclear flashover. Cities dissolved in seconds, in temperatures rivalling that of the sun. Hundreds of millions died in hours; the opening sacrifice.

Then came the nuclear winter. The famine. The collapse. The damage, the dead, insurmountable.

Now, ten years later, the grey sky has once again turned blue, and the sun is warm. Green blooms where man once stood.

But the civilization is gone.

Walkerston, Oregon

A small town managed to avoid the nuclear holocaust. It flourished and grew and now it stands as a community of a few hundred survivors, both locals and outsiders. It fights for its spot under the stars. A life worth living.

The world beyond remains hostile. Fragmented. Nothing and no one is safe. The land is ravaged by radiation, armed raiders, cannibalistic cults, and hostile fauna.

And then, there is you.
