The infection has resulted in the collapse of modern society and a significant reduction in the human population. Most remaining humans are either deceased or suffer from the Cordyceps Brain Infection (CBI).

While the setting is heavily inspired by The Last of Us franchise, roleplayers do not need prior knowledge of the games to participate.
