Trinity Seven, with a new spin!

A hundred and fifty years ago, the second Magic King, Empyrea Trinity, was resurrected by the convergence of the 72 Magic King Fragments. The Trinity Seven of then sacrificed themselves to defeat the Magic King once more, forcibly altering in the world in the process, severing the leylines from the earth and spilling magical powers all over the world.

The Magic King Fragments severed themselves from the Magic King at the last moment, once again scattering themselves to the wind, being carried toward all four corners of the earth. Learning from their mistakes at the hands of the tyrant, Empyrea Trinity, humanity created the Depuration Bureau, an international organization responsible for the seizure and sealing of the Magic King Fragments to prevent the resurrection of the third Magic King. However, a prophecy is foretold that each time the Magic King is defeated, he shall rise again...

The current year is 21XX and the Magic King Fragments still roam the earth. Around a third of the fragments have been collected and sealed away, primarily the lower ranking fragments, but the higher ranking fragments still roam the earth in the form of Discerptors, magical beasts of the highest threat level formed from the "Severance" of corrupted magi, eroded by the power of the Magic King Fragments.

New followings have formed around the world and with the rediscovery of the Magic King Fragments, new threats have emerged. Academies are rebuilt, no longer with the simple intention of magical research, but also teaching the new generation of magi how to fight back.
